Description 
The Interdisciplinary REU Program is designed to provide undergraduate students with a 10 week research experience on a project involving studies of protein structure and function. In addition to the research experience, students have an opportunity to attend weekly seminars focused on graduate school admissions, scientific communication, ethics and more.
Qualifications 
In accordance with NSF guidelines, applicants must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents. Applicants should have a strong interest in pursuing a graduate degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in a STEM (science, technology, engineering or mathematics) discipline. Students who are planning to receive a Bachelor's degree before the end of the program are ineligible. Participants are prohibited from taking courses or working while participating in the program. Students must have health insurance coverage while participating in the program. Students must be available to begin the program on the start date. This REU program is NOT open to U of M (Ann Arbor campus) undergraduates.
