Description 
The program will provide approximately eight undergraduate students with research experience in cutting edge topics related to environmental and health aspects of nanoscience and nantechnology. REU participants will have the opportunity to work with faculty mentors from the departments of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, and Pharmacy.
Qualifications 
Applicants must have completed at least one year of college and will be returning for at least one year of undergraduate study before graduation, are majoring in chemistry, physics, engineering (chemical and biochemical or environmental preferred), pharmaceutics, or occupational and environmental health, are interested in pursuing graduate school and a career in research, are citizens or permanent residents (hold a valid green card) of the United States, and have limited access to research opportunities at their home institution. This program seeks to improve diversity in the STEM fields. Women, disabled students, minority students, and disadvantaged students (economically or first-in-family to attend college) are especially encouraged to apply.
