Description: Students will participate in research projects involving genome analysis, molecular genetics, and other agricultural biotechnology. Activities outside the laboratory setting include discussions on bioethics and biotechnology research, visits to biotechnology facilities on campus and industrial environments, and social functions with mentors, graduate students, and other faculty.
Qualifications: Undergraduate students in biological or agricultural sciences are eligible. They must be US citizens or permanent residents. Students who have completed lecture and laboratory courses in biochemistry or biology and who are juniors will be given preference. Women and minorities are strongly encouraged to apply.
