Description: The program will address the diverse roles of bacteria and archaea using state-of-the-art methods in interdisciplinary research in the fields of Genetics, Biochemistry, Physiology, Molecular Biology, Cellular Biology and Ecology. Broad topics will range from the role of microbes in environmental to their role in human health.

Qualifications: Participants must be citizens or permanent residents of the U.S. or its possessions. Students must not have completed a Bachelor's degree prior to the start of the program to be eligible. Students from institutions with limited research opportunities, minorities, and deaf/hard-of-hearing students are strongly encouraged to apply.
