Ecology in Human-Dominated Landscapes

Description: Students spend 10 weeks immersed in their own research project. Research projects are placed in clusters of 3 to 4 students and their faculty mentors around a common topic. These clusters meet regularly to discuss research projects and current scientific literature related to the cluster topic. Students also participate in: field trips to learn about ecological restoration and different ecosystems; short courses on ethics and professions in ecology and environmental science; and seminars presented by visiting well-known scientists.
Qualifications: U.S. citizen or permanent resident enrolled in any U.S. undergraduate institution; introductory course in biology or environmental science; course in ecology recommended. Review of applications begins on February 1, 2008.
