Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) in Nanotechology

Description: The University of Wisconsin-Madison Nanoscale Science and Engineering Center (NSEC) on Templated Synthesis and Assembly at the Nanoscale and the Materials Research Science and Engineering Center (MRSEC) on Nanostructured Interfaces hosts an annual summer Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) in Nanotechology program. Selected participants will spend 9 weeks conducting research in an area of engineering, physics, chemistry, science education or public policy.
All participants receive a financial support package worth approximately $5,000. This package consists of a $4000 stipend for the nine-week period, travel expenses to and from the program, housing in University dormitories, and a meal program at an on-campus facility.
Qualifications: Undergraduate students majoring in mathematics, chemistry, physics, engineering, biotechnology related engineering areas, and other physical sciences with a strong desire to complete a PhD.
Students who have completed their sophomore or junior year.
Students with an overall GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0. Because SURE/REU is a graduate recruitment program, specific GPA requirements for graduate student applicants in individual departments will be applied.
Students who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents enrolled in an accredited college or university.
