Mount Desert Island Biological Laboratory
Type of Institution: Field Station
URL: http://www.mdibl.org/edu
Description: Mount Desert Island Biological Laboratory (MDIBL), a marine biomedical research institution, has established programs for undergraduate education to enhance scientific training in the biological and biomedical sciences. MDIBL provides the highest quality training for undergraduate students planning careers in research or medicine. MDIBL is a highly collaborative, and collegial, environment, where students and scientists design and conduct experiments together. Fellowships cover room, board, travel (airfare or mileage), and stipend.
The MDIBL program does not have one defined start date and one defined end date as dates depend on when mentors are at the lab so there is some flexibility in terms of the dates listed below.
Qualifications: Students must be US citizens or non-citizen permanent residents; students must have completed at least one semester of undergraduate biology; graduating seniors are not eligible.
