Description: Oak Crest's Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) program is the only one in the nation whose students are comprised entirely of local community college students, rather than of undergraduates from four-year colleges and/or universities. Although other REU programs require a full-time commitment over the summer, ours is a year-round program with both full-time and part-time options. Spring program begins March 4, 2007.
The full-time stipend for spring 2007 is $400/wk for 10 weeks. The half-time stipend for spring 2007 is $200/week for 20 weeks. Since all participants are expected to be local, no housing or travel stipend is provided.
Qualifications: All applicants must be US citizens or permanent residents.
Applicants must be enrolled at one of the following community colleges: Citrus College, Glendale Community College, Mt. San Antonio College, Pasadena City College, or Rio Hondo Community College. Women, minorities, re-entry students, and other students from under-represented groups are especially welcome to apply.
