Description: Students will investigate a fundamental question involving either theory/simulations/modeling of polymer properties, polymer synthesis/kinetics, polymer engineering or physical properties of polymers. Activities include weekly seminar series, panel discussions on career directions, and research discussions, visits to regional companies, and a final presentation at the Northeast Ohio Undergraduate Research Conference.
Housing (university dorm), travel and subsistence are to be paid from the stipend, unless there are special circumstances. If funds allow at the end of summer, we may also pay for travel.
Qualifications: Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents and current freshmen, sophomores or juniors with a minimum 3.0/4.0 GPA, majoring in a physical science, engineering, computer science or mathematics. Application review will begin on February 1, 2009.
