Description 
Yosemite National Park serves as the site of our REU program. Research mentors include UCM, NPS, and USGS scientists. Our program includes weekly seminars, field trips and social activities, professional development and ethics workshops, and concludes with a symposium held in iconic Yosemite Valley where students present their work.
Qualifications 
Specific qualifications depend on the nature of the research project undertaken by each student (see website for details). Applicant must be a current undergraduate (graduation date no earlier than Fall 2014) and a citizen or permanent resident of the United States or its possessions. Women, underrepresented minorities in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics fields (i.e., African Americans, Hispanics, American Indians, Alaska Natives, and Native Hawaiians or Other Pacific Islanders), veterans of the U.S. Armed Services, and students from academic institutions where research opportunities in STEM fields are limited (including two-year colleges) are especially encouraged to apply.
